“Hyper insulated and super sealed off” is a video installation that unfolds gradually through a sequence of melting and deflating bodily forms, body scans and thermal images. A monotonous voice, accompanied by a sparse soundscape, navigates a language of contamination, protection and purification, whilst the body slowly transforms into a thermally sealed inner world. Chemical compounds are recited like mantras, whilst acts of care shift towards rituals of isolation and obsessive control. The work approaches the body not as autonomous or sealed off, but as something unstable, susceptible to influence and constantly permeated by the outside world. In the quest for a pure body, it is precisely its instability and porosity that become visible. What begins as protection gradually shifts towards total isolation. Hyper-insulated and super-sealed off, and finally clean.
